Thousands of Tiny Black Lights is Leaving Home's second full length album. It is very different to my previous release in a lot of ways. Most notably is that the album is comprised of only 4 tracks that range from 4 minutes to half an hour in length. These songs are some of the best pieces of music I have written thus far into Leaving Home. I have spent hundreds, possibly thousands of hours working on them, be that writing, recording, producing ,mixing or mastering. These songs are a beautiful mix of parts that range from spacey ambience to loud, fast guitar driven parts, pulsing, textured drones to monolithic and uplifting crescendos. This album is 10 times more experimental than my previous effort. Song structure is stranger, I used different tools to play my instruments and make noise, used my pedals and DAWS in completely different ways to make the album sound, fuller, weirder and far better. This release delves further into my interest in drones and sound collage while also retaining the loud, high sections seen in my last record. Overall Thousands of Tiny Black Lights is a completely different record that The Sun and The Stargazer. It is much more realised and fully formed. I worked incredibly hard making each movement of each song feel different while also coherent. I hope that you enjoy listening to this record as much as I enjoyed making it over the past 8 or so months.
Physical CD copies available from the Leaving Home Bandcamp. (Just search Leaving Home on Bandcamp and it should show up there)
